Architects of a new casino desired to
create the effect of a coffered wooden ceiling in large public areas of the
building. This ceiling would have to fully replicate the warmth and beauty
of a variety of natural hardwoods while remaining cost-effective. Color,
grain and appearance would have to conform exactly to strict appearance
standards in order for the designers to achieve overall decor scheme.
Additionally, the product had to be lightweight with sufficient rigidity to
allow for economical fastening to the building structure.
American Nickeloid's Laminol Aluminum was the ideal solution. The
limitless combinations of Laminol colors and wood grains along with the
lightweight aluminum alloy base allowed the designers to achieve the
desired effect. The customer was able to work directly with Nickeloid
product engineers, defining all the unique physical and appearance
characteristics required for the job. Nickeloid's production facility rapidly
provided the desired material for the installation.
The net result: a sophisticated decor on a grand scale, achieved with
